Photo by Pexels I was stationed in Indonesia as an expatriate from 2015 to 2019. At that time, the lunch break was the most important time of the working day for me. I often went to the local eateries (warung) near the industrial park and tried to adapt to the lifestyle of the local people.  When I went to the warung, my favorite dish was "Perkedel". It is a croquette made from mashed potatoes, and I ordered it every time. I really miss it. Above is a picture of Perkdel. Crispy fried on the outside and gooey on the inside. So I decided to check for restaurants serving Myanmar cuisine in my neighborhood. At first, I thought it would be difficult to find one in Nagoya, but against my expectations, I found a restaurant called "Mandalay". It is a nice name. The rain had stopped and the sky was blue. On such a pleasant day, I decided to take a walk and go out for lunch. The weather was clear and fresh. It's been a while since I went through the Yamazaki River. "Mandalay" is located in the Kawana area of Showa Ward, Nagoya City. For those who use the train, the nearest station is Kawana Station on the Tsurumai Subway Line; use Exit 1 or Exit 2.
